Pros:

Cons:

What Is a Production Build?

A production build (also called a tract home) is constructed by a volume builder who offers a selection of pre-designed floor plans and homes in a planned community. Buyers choose from a few layout and finish options within set packages.

• Faster Completion: Shorter timelines due to pre-set designs and established processes.

• Predictable Process: Fewer decisions reduce stress and delays.

• Model Homes Available: You can walk through before committing.

Cons:

• Limited Customization: Only minor changes to finishes or layouts are possible.

• Generic Design: Homes may lack unique character or features.

• Community Restrictions: HOAs or builder covenants may limit your choices.

Which Should You Choose?
